Our story
WiseDine was founded by Nico Corporon ’26, a recent college graduate. After being rushed to the emergency room during his freshman year due to a dining hall health scare, Nico saw firsthand how difficult campus dining can be for students and their families.
What began as a personal problem grew into conversations with athletes, licensed dietitians, dining directors, and parents. One theme became clear: campus dining required a more personalized approach to supporting students and giving parents confidence that their child is well accommodated while away from home.
Frequently asked
The short version — for students, parents, dining and wellness teams, and schools exploring a pilot.
Most nutrition apps focus on calorie counting and manual tracking. WiseDine takes a different approach by turning campus dining into a personalized food education platform. Instead of simply allowing users to log the meals they have eaten, WiseDine recommends the campus meals that best align with each student's needs and explains why each recommendation is the right fit, helping our users build smarter, more confident habits.
No, students do not need to log every meal for WiseDine to be useful. Logging meals helps the platform better understand each student's eating patterns and provide more personalized recommendations over time, but WiseDine can still recommend menu items based on their profile, dietary needs, nutrition goals, and available campus dining options.
Students create a profile with their dietary restrictions, food preferences, and nutrition goals. WiseDine then compares that profile, along with previously logged meals, against real-time campus dining menus to recommend menu items that best fit each student's needs.
No. Students can also use WiseDine as a simple way to view daily menus across campus and see what meals are available each day.
